Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort, home of the 1980 Winter Olympic Competitions. Boasts the longest single intermediate run in the Northeast, the 2.1-mile long Wilmington Trail; such as bobsledding down an Olympic track or groomed Nordic skiing or strolling through the lakeside Olympic village.
In the summer, enjoy the Adventure Zone, Downhill Mountain Biking, Gondola Rides, or 4x4 Alpine Expeditions. In the fall, take a drive up the Veterans' Memorial Highway to the summit of Whiteface for breathtaking views of Adirondack fall foliage!
The Adirondack Wildlife Refuge rescues animals and treats them with the goal of reintroducing them back into the wild. Some animals and birds are unable to recover so the refuge then provides them a home. It is a very interesting program and the children will especially enjoy seeing the wolves they have from Canada and the western US.
